23 September, 2010 : Well, another nice sunny day and a reasonable breeze for sailing. Again a good roll up of boats - 19 this week. A couple less than last week, but it’s a great start to the season. Mono’s are getting a great fleet, with the large cats gaining numbers, but the TY’s and small cats are lagging behind somewhat. Great to see Hayley Walsh (Curry) back on the water skippering a boat with her son Emmett crewing. Emmett had a huge smile on his face when he returned to shore, must have been good fun. So come on all you small cats and TY’s out there, get your boat back on the water – enjoy sailing again.
We have had the AGM and obviously I’m doing the editors job again. Congratulations to all those elected. We have had a couple of changes of positions and welcome to Richard Hipsley taking on the Presidents job and to Jim Curry coming back onto the committee again. I’m sure we can all look forward to a successful season .... Gail Grant
18 August, 2010 : The junior calendar and updated junior information are now available on the website
10 August, 2010 : The final version of the club program is now available on the website. Also, a report on the Junior working bee is in the Junior news section.
14 July, 2010 : I would like to invite all members to a working bee to be held at Port Kembla Sailing Club on August 7, 2010 - starting at 9am.
We are holding this working bee, as towards the end of the season several of the junior boats became damaged or had missing equipment, this limited the amount of boats that could be put on the water every week and therefore we have decided a working bee is in order. Myself and the other coaches would like a helping hand from members to restore the boats and equipment to a usable state in preparation for the start of the 2010-2011 season.
Along with the above mentioned, some other tasks that we would like to do at the working bee is to sell some boats that aren't being used. This is a good opportunity for some members to buy these boats otherwise they will be put on e-bay and sold. We would also like to have a general tidy up and re-organise the boats shed.
Bring some tools - drills, grinders, screwdirvers, socket sets, etc .... And any other tools you might think could help ....
Sausage sizzle and drinks will be provided for lunch for all helpers.
Hope to see you there on the day.

10 June, 2010 : Bob Bower from IYC is organising a Race Officers Course at club level for any interested people including the older juniors. These courses are great to explain the procedure for starting, course setting, finishing etc at a club level. They also give a interesting insight from a competitor's point of view.
Peter Walsh from Batemans Bay will be the presenter. Paul has attended a couple of his courses and they are really good. 1 day course should be in August at the IYC.
Contact Paul Leaudais if interested.
10 June, 2010 : PKSC has formally taken on the MG14 nationals in January. We will be looking for helpers from the 8-13 January 2011
