It was a great day of racing for the first day back of the season and for our club championship 5. A variable north easterly wind made racing tough with large shifts and a range of pressure between 5knots – 18knots. The first work was extremely close between all boats with a lot of tack splitting and crosses the chance was for anyone to lead around the top mark. By the bottom mark it was Blur leading followed by Truck, the Ribwich, Pleasure and Pain and Blowflies. But no position was settled yet. The last triangle really showed some separating between the fleet when the Ribwich and Truck got a good shift down the first run to bring them well ahead. Blowflies had really pulled in Pleasure and Pain but unfortunately had some trouble forcing them to retire. Ribwich and Truck continued a close battle and by the X mark had lost pressure. Blur and Pleasure & Pain gained right in on the leaders. With all boats within the X mark and the finish it was The Ribwich first followed by Truck, Blur and Pleasure & Pain.
