Saturday turned out to be a challenge with a beautiful NE breeze in the morning and a black northeaster in the afternoon. Sunday had two very light easterlies. Wilful Intent retired while coming second in the MGs in the Saturday morning race after Amelia hurt herself. Spindrift retired as well with a broken tiller extension. Blur had a few swims in the first race but fared better for the rest of the series. Prawn Star only participated on Sunday where they sailed well against the other MGs.
The results are in the Kembla Klassic section. In division 2 which was combined Sharpie and 505, Mr Freeze finished first narrowly from Smoke with Mainiac 5th. Pleasure & Pain did well except for race two where they were the fastest boat upwind but swam on every downwind. Southern Cross had a best race of 7th, Blur 8th and Blowflies 4th.
PKSC crews also had a good time on other boats with Jess sailing on Dirty Deeds (the skipper was very impressed with her skills), Zoe on Proud Aussie on Saturday and Hayley on Irish Frog - I am sure it was Hayleys skills that got them a third in the last heat.
The KK was also the first three heats of the Sharpie State Titles. Results with no drops have Mr Freeze first and Mainiac 3rd.
Overall another successful Kembla Klassic - thanks to all the volunteers who helped run the event.
