You have to admit that the weather for the last 2 sailing Saturdays has not been kind to us. I believe while we were out on Jervis Bay 2 Saturdays ago that a storm and strong winds prevented a PKSC start. This Saturday a strong northerly reduced starters to just a handful and eventually lots of DNFs.
I should mention the around Jervis Bay race two Saturday ago that lured Frou Frou South. Not surprisingly the wind on the bay that Saturdays was also very. I counted only 4TY’s at the boat ramp preparing to sail, of which Frou Frou was one. The wind was getting stronger in the car park which led us decide not to sail. Instead we Frou Frou crew took up the offer to sail on a trimaran. And what a ride it was. On occasions, (for example manoeuvring before the start) we did slow down to around 10 knots. But mostly we did not see the speedo drop below 15 knots. It was a very wet and speedy trip around Jervis Bay that had us completing the course in just over 2 hours. That’s a quick trip.
Now back to this last Saturday’s windy PKSC race. Digger and Rodger aboard Grey Fox ventured out but, after wrestling to put up their main, did the sensible think and decided to head back to shelter. That just left Frou Frou with Alan and me aboard for the TY start, and, after completing the first triangle we decided it wasn't fun anymore so headed in early for a cup of coffee and a beer and maybe a sausage role.
All in all it was a good day out with the bonus of having some extra time back at the cub house to exchange stories with the other retirees back in the clubhouse.
The result is that there are no results for the last 2 race days. Maybe the weather will be kinder to us next Saturday. See you then
The End Trev.
