Sailing was cancelled due to the inclement weather. A very sensible decision I think given what was about to transpire. I arrived at about 11:10 hours to find the club shut and not a sole around but it was about this time that the wind picked up and the rain pelted harder. The Frou Frou crew had to put plan B into action and regrouped at a near by café to debrief and eat nice things and to talk about what we might do with the rest of the day. Thoughts of taking the beloved to the movies, doing the dishes, pottering in the garden amongst other ideas were discussed. The irony of having Saturday sailing cancelled is that it generally means free time, free time that could be spent writing the TY Delegates report but with no sailing, there is no sailing to report on.
However there are a couple of important TY sailing events coming up worth mentioning.
Marlay Point Overnight Race:
Marlay Point is on again 9 -10 March. Frou Frou will be heading south to represent PKSC and would like some company.
We have very recently been advised of another event at the popular St Georges Basin venue, a seventeen to twenty nautical mile around the basin race, on 23 March with an 11:00 hour starting time. Please go to the Sussex Inlet St Georges Basin Yacht Club web site for additional details.
See you at the club next Saturday.
